Exalien Software

Exalien Software is a web development firm my buisness partner, Neil Axe, and I own. Initially Exalien (Neil Axe’s name backwards) Software was intended for the selling of his syncronization program. As time went by we decided to work together in order to take on larger projects, namely eCommerce web sites.
I decided to play on the alien theme and design Exalien’s site with a space undertone. Its always nice to do personal projects where I can freely go about designing entirely on my own tastes. Exalien Software had to be very polished and professionally done to set the bar for all of our clients and the type of work they would expect to receive.
I used flash in the header to not only add some color and keep the content pages fresh, but also to add a nice menu transition with a subtle nebula effect overlaying the images. It is my personal belief that a web site design should not contain too many colors to overwhelm the eye and distract from the rest of the site, but it’s a good idea to not let the viewer become bored with too few colors and make the site come alive with colorful photography, imagry, or advertisements.
The site is fully dynamic and database driven for easy maintenance and customization as our services expand and our portfolio grows. The final product was a clean and futuristic web site with tactfully placed quotes from clients and detailed information so potential clients can get a good idea about the services they would receive if they chose to use Exalien Software.
